When Sherri and Robert planned their wedding day, they searched high and low for a special location, and with a summer ceremony in the works, there could be no place better than a pristine white beach with shimmering blue waters in the distance. Fortunately, Connecticut had just the location. From a photographer’s point of view, places such as Anthony’s Ocean View are optimum in bringing about the best in our craft.
I have had the honor to shoot many weddings across this great state of mine and it is a craft that I treat with the appropriate mix of creativity and responsibility. Being a CT wedding photographer is something I treasure, especially since my job allows me to be in the presence of so many wonderful treasured moments, with Sherri and Robert’s wedding being a brilliant example. It was the perfect balance of sacredness and celebration. While beach weddings, especially on the Connecticut shores, can bring about an air of casualness, this wedding retained that sense of the gravity concerning the power of love and the strength of commitment. Its signature can be seen in every photograph that I was fortunate enough to take that day.
The subjects were more than willing to work with me, their families were open to the experience, and the landscape was as glorious as it should be for this type of day. Being a CT wedding photographer on days such as these are what I live for. A perfect beach, a sacred ceremony, and a gorgeous summer’s afternoon. I must admit, I really love what I get to do for a living.
There are many places within my home state that possess many beautiful traits that can catch a photographer’s eye. From the cityscape to the lush East Coast countryside, there are sights that can excite the creative spark that rests in my heart and mind. With that being said, one of the brightest creative sparks within the borders of Connecticut is the Woodwinds Reception Hall in Branford. It embraces the best of the old with the aesthetic of the modern; an ideal place for a wedding. I’ve been fortunate to have photographed many nuptials at this wonderful location and it is the perfect backdrop for two individuals to come together as man and wife. Being a CT wedding photographer, I have seen a great deal of what this state has to offer. This location is simply one of the best.
Not too long ago, I had the extreme fortune to document the wedding of two wonderful individuals, Diana and Mike, at this incredible place. We chose to use one of those gorgeous Connecticut sunsets for the backdrop of the bride’s photo shoot. Diana, in her beautiful white wedding dress, looked like a goddess as she was framed by all the warm fall colors as the sun touched the horizon. Working with both families was nothing more than a positive experience. It was obvious that they were invested in helping me bring about some memorable moments for both the bride and groom. There really wasn’t much more that this CT wedding photographer could have asked for. These are the days that I especially love what I do for a living and am counting the days until I get to return to the Woodwinds.
Elizabeth and John came to our CT photography studio to ask us to shoot their wedding. When they told us it would be at The Waters Edge Resort in Westbrook Connecticut, we could only say YES! The Waters Edge Resort is exactly where it says, on the water’s edge so as a CT photographer, I could not pass up the opportunity to take advantage of the natural light and landscape of the beach to shoot a wedding. A wedding set on the sand with the crashing blue waves of a roaring ocean as the background is practically out of a fantasy book.
It was a beautiful June beach wedding with the ocean breeze keeping everyone cool outside. After the ceremony, Elizabeth and John moved the party inside where their guests lounged inside the cozy, Victorian style resort. The reception area was warmly lit by the soft light of the wall scones and votive candles on the guest tables. We found some great places inside to shoot the happy couple. There was an especially remarkable spot on a stair case with wooden banisters lit by the soft glow of a hanging chandelier.
It was an absolute dream shoot to get great CT photography.
Weddings are filled with ceremony and celebrations. Along with some cultures, a great deal of tradition gets thrown into the mix as well. However, you will usually find that along with these traditions comes a strong sense of community. Covering the recent Ukrainian wedding to celebrate the uniting of Roman and Inna, the community came in droves. Being a CT wedding photographer, I documented the entire celebration. It was so worth my time.
For such a large wedding, I was fortunate to have another photographer to work with me. This would have been impossible as a solo job. In addition, this was a NYC wedding, with the spirit of the city present. While I may enjoy the simpler lifestyle of living in Connecticut, the chaos of the city can be an artist’s dream. However, the job of the day was this huge wedding and there were many sights and sounds to peak my photographic interest.
A person who documents weddings needs to be flexible and requires the ability to adapt to many different situations. As a CT wedding photographer, I have made the most out of small and intimate weddings. Yet, as fun as these large weddings can be, they can be a challenge. With that being said, these are challenges that I’ve been able to meet head on. Don’t let my Connecticut residency fool you. I’m always ready to get my hands dirty, especially if they can provide a newly wedded couple an amazing photo album that will last through the years.
Is there anything more romantic than getting married outdoors on the beach? The Amarantes Sea Cliff is another great location for a CT wedding photographer to capture the special little moments of that important day. The Amarantes Sea Cliff boasts in having the best seascapes and most beautiful sunset views in Connecticut and it does not disappoint! For over 50 years, it has served as a premier place to host every type of celebration or event. As a CT wedding photographer, I am most interested in the location, the views, and the accents of a building and the Amarantes Sea Cliff had plenty of that along with old paintings and romantic photos on the walls. However, this venue offered something I had to be sure to mention: the great food! The Amarantes employs two prizing winning international chefs with the ability to offer an unlimited array of menu items for any event, even special requests. I’m certain Jessice and Correy were thrilled with their wedding venue. The outdoor ceremony took place in the late afternoon and the sky was perfect! We took advantage of the beautiful sunset and made sure to capture unforgettable memories outside with the couple before the moment passed. Just another day at work for a CT wedding Photographer.
